This sweet vase!
It was cheap, and you've got to love the colors and soft undulating pattern. I'm sorry, you have no choice but to love it. As much as you'd love a puppy.
Right now, I've got a bit of the plant that was growing in the backyard in it. When I move into the new place, I'm thinking it might get some actual flowers in it.

Yay! I have an apartment
My almost week-long journey of fear and anxiety is over. I got the apartment. Here's what I'm getting:
So yes. I'll now live at 7SomethingSomething North MumbleMumble, Los Angeles. There's enough space that my queen-sized bed (which is cleverly disguised as an air mattress at present moment) won't totally fill the room. There's also a comically tiny kitchen. The gap between the stove and fridge is just small enough for the oven door to open all the way.
As they say, it's got a lot of potential. Allegedly 400 square feet, hardwood(?) floors and air conditioning. And a security deposit the size of Jupiter.
Yay.... Now to sketch up some shelves.

Fingers crossed guys!
After touring the apartment and falling a little bit in love with it, I put in the necessary applications and prayed to every deity I could name.
It looks like it's gonna be mine which is at once amazing and also scary. I like the idea of having a place of my own, but I'll have to buy so much stuff to live there. I mean, I only own about two major pieces of furniture, and neither of them are a bed. I also drive a jetta, which is actually useless for hauling anything larger than an end table.
So, readers... what was the one thing you wished you'd had before moving into your first apartment?

The joys of apartment hunting
Now that I'm employed and graduated, I'm on that next great step: finding my own apartment. I'm taking y'all, my very very supportive readership along for the ride.
My needs are simple:
-Air conditioning
-Full kitchen
-Close to work
-Within my budget (not much)
I've found a handful of opportunities.
The two cheapest ones are a 20 minute commute to and from, and aren't in the greatest of neighborhoods. But they're full kitchens in historic buildings and are about 450 square feet each. Not a bad deal.
The middle option is a wild card. Not that much more per month, but it's only a 10 minute commute to and from, and its got a pool on the premises. The downside is that its a building from the early 60s, and again isn't in the best neighborhood. I also have no clue if its got hardwood floors. Not that those are essential, but they're a nice touch.
Option 4 is the one I'm touring Saturday. The most expensive, but its a mere ONE BLOCK from work. I don't mind commuting, but I'll take a five minute walk over a 10 minute drive any day. It's also in the nicest neighborhood, but I know there's going to be competition for it. The difference between these options is about 75 dollars from cheapest to most expensive, which isn't huge but every dollar helps. I'll have pictures up and ready to go soon, y'all.

An update to all my readers
One reason why I haven't felt like posting much is because I don't actually have a house or apartment of my own. I have a room that I'm subletting. So there's not a lot of fun that can be had when I'm limited to four walls and some stuff in the kitchen. It looks like I'll be spending the next year-ish amount of time in a room as well. I'm slowly growing into this adulthood thing, but I'll try and at least buy interesting things to furnish my space.
